Leonard William Bazan, 89, of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully Monday, March 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Gloria Bazan nee Dehr for 59 years. Loving father of Gene (Pamela) and Susan (William) Frech. Devoted grandfather of Andrew Bazan, Matthew Bazan and Gregory Frech. Dear brother of Frances (the late Donald) Sebby, Lydia (Fred) Kimberley, John, Donald (Isabel), Robert (Sharon), brother-in-law of Lois (the late Henry) Dehr. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Stephan and Lillian Bazan and siblings Marie (Maurice) Worland and Stephan (the late Marion) Bazan.

Enjoyed vegetable gardening, making wine, being outdoors. Volunteered as Meals On Wheels driver for 17 years. Member of ’10 gallon club” for blood donation. Mount Prospect Senior of The Year Recipient. Volunteer for P.A.D.S. His greatest joys included spending time with his grandsons and working with the Boy Scouts.
Born February 3, 1928 in Aurora, IL.
Served his country proudly in the Marines during the Korean War.
Memorial Visitation Friday 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect. Visitation continues Saturday 10:00 A.M. until Funeral Services 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 S. Wille St. Mt. Prospect. Private interment at a later date.
